Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet!

Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet!
April 26, 2012

Coast2Coast Rx encourages you to participate in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) “National Prescription Drug Take Back Day” this Saturday, April 28.

Unwanted, unused, or expired prescriptions can be deposited at many local sheriff’s departments and community sites across the country from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Consumers nationwide can search for their closest secure drop-off site by visiting the Collection Site Locator that the DEA has provided. When dropping off your medications please be sure that contents are in secure containers; collection staff will ensure that medications are disposed of safely.

With spring upon us, it’s time for a fresh start – time to clean out the old to make room for the new. While in spring-cleaning mode, make it a priority to clean out medicine cabinets and clear out expired prescription and over-the-counter drugs. While keeping prescriptions updated can be costly, doing so can be a significant step to a healthy lifestyle for individuals and families. In an effort to make prescription drugs and other healthcare services more affordable, the Coast2Coast Rx card provides millions of dollars in savings for individuals and families nationwide by offering discounts of up to 75 percent on more than 60,000 brand name and generic drugs. The Coast2Coast Rx can be a valuable asset to any household – even if you have a healthcare plan already, the card may be able to help you save on prescriptions or services not covered by your insurer. The program is especially helpful to those without health insurance or experiencing the Medicare Part D “donut hole.”

Make time to stop by your drop-off location this Saturday to clean out your medicine cabinet! As always, stay updated by including Coast2Coast Rx on your social network on Facebook and Twitter.
